ENERGY RECOVERY

Resolve issues related to the heat and electricity sources, including problems with the distribution network.

New energy sources and transmission and distribution networks shall be established, enhancing their existing capacity and energy production and supply reliability.

Renewable energy facilities will be developed to ensure reliability and stability of the integrated energy system, with a focus on water facilities and stored resource stations.

The energy sector will be transitioned into an independent financial and economic system in certain phases.

Actions will be taken to prepare high voltage aerial transmission lines and substations to connect to the renewable energy source and network within the Northeast Asian integrated energy grid.

BACKGROUNDS AND REQUIREMENTS

The energy sector serves as the foundation of the economy, ensuring the country's security, independence, and sustainable economic and social development. Energy supply, availability, reliability, and efficacy significantly limit the production, productivity, and investment of important development projects, including mining, road transportation, manufacturing technology, small and medium enterprises, and real sectors, play a crucial role in overall economic development.

In our country the total energy supply is sourced as follows

80%
From internal sources
14%
imported from China
5%
imported from Russia

The age of thermal power plants is 35-60 years, and the age of electricity transmission and distribution networks is 32-62 years, with 40% of them exceededing their useful life. The last time a new power source was built in 1986 at the 4th Thermal Power Station , indicating Mongolia's urgent need for new stations to be constructed, expanded and renovated.

ENERGY RECOVERY PROJECTS

Four sets of energy projects and programs have been approved within the policy framework. These encompass a wide range of initiatives, such as expanding the capacity of thermal power plants, establishing build new energy sources, improving power substations, enhancing power transmission overhead networks, and implementing environmentally friendly energy projects that rely on cutting edge science and advanced technologies.

THE POLICY IMPLEMENTATION

The energy sector will be transitioned into an independent financial and economic system, enhancing the reliability of energy production and supply, and creating primary conditions for sustainable social development.

Energy sources will be doubled

45 thousand households will be provided with electricity

60 thousand households will be provided with heat
